What's the deal with all these bands and chains?  Accommodating resistance is the most effective and safe way to increase your strength.  Lifting straight weight all the time can crush your CNS and increase your chance of injury.  But lowering the weight and adding accommodating resistance, you deload weight though part of the lift and reload through another part.  Therefore, your body starts to acclimate to pushing or pulling through the heavier weight making you stronger and faster.
