Tip of the Day
Box jumps are a great accessory for increasing hip power.  Ideally, they should be stepped down and explosively us the hip to jump back onto the box.  The bounding box jump definitely makes these reps faster, however, they place a lot of strain on the calves and achilles tendons.  If you can save bounding box jumps for competition and train stepping down and jumping up, not only will your lower extremities thank you but your hip power will be greater.
